Wine Tasting Tour


Baja Wine & Sun offers a relaxing tour through the beautiful wine country surrounding Ensenada that lasts approximately 3 1/2 hours. It includes transportation outside of Ensenada, wine tasting at all three wineries and a bilingual tour guide.

The first stop on the tour is a visit to the second oldest winery in Mexico: Bodegas De Santo Tomas; situated in the city center, they have preserved the original building and have turned it into a dedicated art exhibit. From there you will take a trip through the city only to the Cavas Valmar, a young winery with a production of wines that may surprise you.

The tour will end by visiting L.A. Cetto, a local favorite which offers a wonderful tasting room and makes for a perfect finale to the tour. You will have the option of staying to enjoy the scenic area for the rest of the evening.


Whale Watching Tour


Baja Wine & Sun offers an exciting whale watching tour through Baja California’s gray whale sanctuary. The tour includes transportation from Ensenada to Guerrero Negro and back, lodging (hotel stay for two nights), a boat ride and entrance fee to the protected area.

On the way to Guerrero Negro we will go through the agricultural valleys of Santo Tomas, San Vicente, Colonia Guerrero, San Quintin and El Rosario. Then you will have the chance to eat the famous lobster burritos at Mama Espinozas, view the symbolic cirio cactus in the Cataviña desert and visit one of the caves with preserved cave paintings.

Is a short car ride, drive time from San Diego to Ensenada is about 1.5 to 2 hrs

How is the road to get there?

Once you cross the border, within a minute you will be on a highway straight to Ensenada. You have the option to change to a toll-free road, but we highly recommend the scenic highway, with just three pay booths of around 2 dlls you get insurance and road assistance. We suggest to avoid driving at night since there are no street lights, besides only at daytime you get to enjoy the impressive ocean vistas that truly name it a scenic highway.

How is the weather in Ensenada?

Ensenada shares weather conditions with San Diego, CA. Annual rainfall is about 12 inches and you should expect rain in winter time, although is rare to experience extreme conditions. There are over 250 sunny days per year, being July thru October the hottest months. Since Ensenada is located on the coast of Baja, expect drier conditions as you go inland.
